An American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York City was forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas City Thursday due to an unruly passenger, authorities said. A female passenger was handcuffed and escorted off the plane by a federal air marshal after she disrupted the flight by belting out Whitney Houston songs.

“The woman was being disruptive and was removed from the plane for interfering with the flight crew,” airport spokesman Joe McBride told KCTV on Friday. “There was a federal air marshal on the aircraft, who subdued the woman and put her in cuffs and removed her from the plane.”
