The Boston Marathon Bombing happened one year ago today.  Though some innocent lives were lost, many of the victims not only survived, but thrived and pushed themselves to be stronger after this horrible incident.  Take Peter DiMartino, from Webster, for example.  He married his girlfriend, Rebekah Gregory (also injured in the blast), last weekend in North Carolina.  (I was at the wedding, as Pete is a good friend of my boyfriend - see pics here.) 

There are plenty of other amazing stories of survival, not just Pete & Rebekah.  Dear World is Robert X. Fogarty's distinctive message-on-skin portrait project, which began in 2009.  He asked many of the survivors to return to the finish line in Boston to help with his project.  This is the result:
