The jury's still out on its official record book status, but Jack White is calling his Record Store Day feat, "the world's fastest-released record."
The former White Stripes lead debuted his new single "Lazaretto" before fans at his Third Man Records label in Nashville Saturday. Four hours later, the song was available on a limited run vinyl record.
White pulled off the stunt -- the recording, pressing and distribution of his single -- to promote Record Store Day, which celebrates the still-standing, independently-owned record stores around the country.
"Lazaretto" will also be featured on White's upcoming album of the same name due out in June.
