Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd and punk rock icon Johnny Rotten will be bringing "Jesus Christ Superstar" around the country this summer.  They're among the stars who have signed on for a North American touring version of the musical theater staple along with *NSYNC's JC Chasez and Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child.

Boyd tells Rolling Stone he was initially "confounded" by the offer to play Judas Iscariot in the Andrew Loyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera.  But he came around after watching recent "Jesus Christ Superstar" tours through the U.K. and Australia.  He says he was blown away by the way they modernized the story, and notes that you don't have to be religious to appreciate the impact of the show.

Boyd and his new "Jesus Christ Superstar" castmates start the 51-city arena trek on June 9th in New Orleans.
