Rochester N.Y.- A heads up from RG&E and NYSEG.  The utilities say some their customers are receiving suspicious calls.

Someone claiming to be from RG&E and NYSEG is telling customers they have an overdue bill and in order to avoid having their service shut off, they have to purchase a debit card and contact the caller with the card information.

Officials say this is a scam and are asking anyone who has questions about their account to contact them directly.
