Rochester, N.Y. - Rochester police have named the officer who was killed Wednesday night in the line of duty.
Daryl Pierson, 32, leaves behind a wife and two children age 4 and 3-months.
Police say that Thomas Johnson III was pulled over by Peirson. Johnson ran away from Pierson and when Pierson pursued the two began exchanging gunfire.
Pierson was an eight year veteran of the Rochester Police Department and was an Army veteran that served in Afghanistan.
