Two Men Accused Of Assault In Rochester

(13WHAM) Rochester, N.Y.- Rochester Police arrested two men accused of assaulting a man and then fleeing from officers.

Quamayne Cooper, 18, and Brian Johnson, 18, are charged with second degree assault.

Just after 8:00 p.m. Friday, RPD Tactical Unit Officers, Matt Bennetti and Daryl Pierson were patrolling on Ravine Avenue when they say they witnessed an assault in progress.

Police said the officers spotted Cooper and Johnson physically assaulting the victim with a weapon.

They said when the suspects saw the officers, they ran off.

After a foot chase, both suspects were taken into custody.

The victim was transported to Rochester General Hospital where he is currently in guarded condition.
