Three Workers Attacked On St. John Fisher College Campus

Pittsford, N.Y. -Monroe County Sheriff's deputies have identified a man accused of assaulting three Saint John Fisher College employees on campus Tuesday night. He is 26 year old Michael Mahoney of Fairport.

Deputies say the  attack  followed a robbery and a chase that began in Macedon.Police say Mahoney of ended up crashing a car on 490 near the Fisher campus. They say he hopped a fence onto campus and tried to carjack a woman, a maintanence worker , in the parking lot . Two other workers ran to help her, one had a bat. Deputies say Mahoney grabbed the bat and began hititng the victims.

Mahoney is facing charges that include felony assault, attempted robbery, resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated and a number of traffic violations in Monroe County.

Mahoney is in the hospital in police custody. One victim will require surgery to a hand. A second employee suffered minor injuries. .
