Three people, including a Rochester Police officer were injured in a shooting late this afternoon in the city near Norton Street and Goodman Street.

Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard confirms that police were pursuing a suspect they believe was involved in a double homicide on Central Avenue when shots broke out.

One officer was injured in the shooting and taken to Rochester General Hospital. Also injured was the suspect and an uninvolved motorist in the area. The suspect was taken to Strong Hospital. No word yet on the condition of the three people injured.
