Rochester's New Home for Elvis Duran!

"Garden Arterial" started around Rochester's High Falls

Posted Thursday, March 20th 2014 @ 5pm  by Bud Lowell

A group of officials and volunteers put shovels into a pile of dirt at the High Falls in downtown Rochester today, breaking ground for what they hope will be a garden trail clear around the Genesee River gorge.

The big project is called the "Garden Arterial" ,  a three-quarter mile trail around the falls. The 300-foot garden path being started on Brown's Race is just a small part of it.

Supporters home some day with state, city and private support to turn the rim of the gorge into an historic display of what used to be there when water-powered mills were the heart of Rochester's economy. The plan is to renovate the entire area with the landscaped garden trail offering forgotten vistas of the gorge and the High Falls

The Garden Arterial group has been awarded half-a-million dollars from the state to get started.
